May 2023 Blog

It can be lonely in the command center, but having help from friends is a great encouragement. We continue to do follow-up in The Gambia and the mission to the Kyanga in NW Nigeria is complete. It was a difficult one, but Asad and Mahmoud claim the victory with over 250 decisions for Christ. There were five funded missions in four countries in April. Badr is funded for a May 1st outreach to Samogo/Senofou. I received a request from Cahil for a mission to Salemata, Senegal to work with Pastor Isaac among several unreached people groups including the Pulaar and Jalunka (they spell it differently). Since I have denied the request of Kasim we are able to send Cahil on this June 1st mission. Lut will also return to the Limba people for follow-up with electronic devices. The level of excitement among, Imams, chiefs, elders, and just plain village folks was notable as I read his report. On the last day, new believers from three villages gathered to receive answers to their questions. Some of those questions included, “what are the rules of this faith in Christ? What sins are forgiven? How do we pray?” I could tell the Holy Spirit showed up in power as Lut was ecstatic about the response he saw. Keep in mind I was able to meet him and work with him on our mission to The Gambia. He was not an overly expressive individual during that mission.

As for continued follow up in The Gambia. The second follow-up was completed in three villages to whom I felt compelled to reach. Of the seven Proclaimers (New Testament listening devices) that were given, five were given to chiefs and men of peace. In follow-up two of the men reported that they listen to the Word of God, day, and night, and even take the device with them when they leave the village. They are even being persecuted by their people who are demanding to know, to what are they listening? Kasim, is planning to meet Ismaila in his home sometime this month per Ismaila’s request. Others are growing in their faith. The third follow-up is funded for this month and our final follow-up will be in May.

Pastor Nabeel who I worked with in the Casamance area of Senegal has completed a recon trip and is engaged now in his outreach to the Maninka. We were able to fund his to villages near Sediou, including equipment needs. Please pray as this is hard ground. Pastor Mifta had asked for and received money for his recon trip and mission to some unreached groups in the Kayes region of Mali. He saw modest fruit in the four villages of the Khasonke/Kagora and is quite encouraged by the move of the Spirit. Badr received help with his recon trip he took to some Samogo, Senofou villages about 40km from Sikasso. He received 500 Bibles from Voice of the Martyrs. 300 were in Bambara, and 200 in French. Pray the Lord will spread His Word through these.

We were able to fund Fahad’s planned outreach last month near Garoua, in which he saw over 400 Fulani come to Jesus, and Musa’s trip to villages near Tanout, Niger is completed with over 800 decisions for Jesus.  Prince’s trip to the Borno state, is now completed. He reports over 500 Kanuri and Babur people came to Jesus. One young village man I will call Azhar was so enthusiastic he told the team that he would follow them wherever they went and not return home. Prince said that was not possible but when the team showed up at the next town they were visiting there he was. He is now in the training center being taught how to be a disciple. Please pray Azhar would use discretion, he is a passionate new disciple. We have enough to purchase a projector for Fahad to replace the one that is not functioning, and he will join Prince for an outreach along the Nigerian, Cameroonian border. Aariz Faheem has repented, and we are back in relationship with him through Asad. We funded a small mission to one village near Tita, Burkina Faso he requested. He saw about 100 Nuni come to Jesus in that village. I received revelation about my next trip in January 2024. I am planning a trip to Guinea, I will fill you in on the details later. Thank you for partnering with us in the Great Commission within the 10/40 window of West Africa.
